- My NRSWA Street works card has expired, what do I do?
- My NRSWA Street works card is about to expire?
- My NRSWA street works card is out of date?
Do any of the above apply to you?
You will need to complete a NRSWA Re Assessment training course. You have 6 months around the expiry date of the card to complete this. So you can start your course up to six months prior to the expiry date, we recommend completing your course no later than 3 months after your expiry date in order to make sure all the paper work is sorted in plenty of time. You will need to sit an exam paper for every unit which you have previously completed. The exam paper is a 10 question multiple choice question paper which you have 30 minutes to complete. We have two options when it comes to the Re Assessment, we offer a 1 day refresher and then you sit the exams on the second day. Or you can just go on the exam day if you do not want to complete the refresher training. Obviously regulations do change over the years so we do recommend that delegates go on the refresher day to get back up to date with current requirements.
We have centres UK wide so you are never too far away from a training centre. Prices and dates do vary at each location, so it is best to check on the website as to current availability. Or you can give us a call and have a chat to the training team who will send over details. Alternatively if you don’t want to talk to us you can chat to Marvin the duck on our main training website www.projss.co.uk
If you have any questions or need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards,

I haven’t had my card for a long time so I think I need to do the full course, can you help with that and how much will it cost please
Amy Glover
Hi Gareth,
You are allowed to take a reassessment up to 5 years after your Streetworks card has expired. However, if you have not worked on a Streetworks site for some time, we would recommend that you take a full course again.
Price varies depending on location, but on average an operative or supervisor course is between £700 and £800 for 5 days training, all your assessments and your card.
You can contact us on 0800 0213 263 and one of our team will go through the best options for where you are based. There is no obligation to book when you talk to us.
Alternatively, if you tell me where you are and if you need an operative or supervisor course, one of the team can email you with options and prices.
Thank you,
Amy

Is a NRSW card valid after the expiry date? I’m aware of resitting within 6 months, but is the card valid until this point or does it become invalid on the date of expiry?
Thomas Williamson
Hi Dean, Once the card reaches its expiration, the card is invalid. After this, you have up to 5 years to renew your card and you will need to take a refresher course to revalidate your NRSWA. Depending on which units you will be taking, this will either be a 2 day course or 1 day. To clarify what you need, call our team on 0800 0213 263.

Hi there. I did a NRSWS renewal course on 16 , 17 Feb this year and haven’t received my new card yet! I’m starting work on a new company in a weeks time and need to produce a copy of my card. How long does it normally take to get sent to me?
Thanks Liam wheeler
Sam Barton
Hi Liam, cards usually take a couple of months, however, during this latest lockdown SWQR stopped producing cards. They started up again on the 15th March but it has caused serious delays. You should have received a confirmation letter by email after your completed your course. If you haven’t received that please email [email protected] and we’ll get that sent out.
Thanks, Sam

If your STREETWORKS card runs out when in lockdown is there anything in place for still working with your expired card till you get a training course?
Sam Barton
SWQR have released some information around extensions here https://www.swqr.org.uk/SWQR/news/archive but I don’t think there are plans to extend this yet.
Industry leaders did submit notes in a letter to the department of transport asking them to be reasonable as people’s cards expire.
As re-assessment courses are still available I’d suggest getting your card refreshed if you’re continuing to work just to be on the safe side.

Hi Joseph,
For your inquiry, you will need to sit a re-assessment course. Take a look at some of the dates available for you to take the course by clicking on the link below –
