All NRSWA cards and certificates expire after 5 years. To renew your card and still be covered to work on the roads you can complete your course again or you can attend a reassessment course.
If you just have the signing, lighting and guarding unit on your card you can complete the signing, lighting and guarding course again or the half-day reassessment course available at limited centres.
Signing, Lighting and Guarding Reassessment
The signing, lighting and guarding course is also known as the NRSWA O1 (Operative 1) or S1 (Supervisor 1). It was previously known as either the Unit 2 or Unit 10, and before that was often referred to as the 'Chapter 8' course.
With the changing unit names, and the different way to refer to the streetworks course scheme, and how to renew your card, you can always talk with our team to be sure you're booking the correct course.
Assessment
You'll receive some short refresher training for your unit and then you'll complete a 30-minute question paper, you'll have the opportunity to re-sit the paper if you fail to meet the required pass mark of 80%.
Can't see a course near you?
Our most popular locations run the signing, lighting and guarding reassessment. However, if you can't see a location nearby, you can always attend the 1-day course again. Take a look at our Nationwide dates for operatives and supervisor.
